How it Began

Many years ago, NAV4 Founder Joe, set up his own company making competition rucsacs designed to meet some very specific needs; light in weight, tough, easy to access, plenty of convenient storage... For four years he single handedly made and sold what was probably the World's first 'ultra running' sac.

This led to a number of design and development consultancy roles - at first supporting Karrimor / KIMM requirements and subsequently other outdoor brands too.

To this day, Joe still makes and adapts much of his own gear as well as maintaining strong ties with some significant British outdoor brands. He also amends or creates numerous bespoke items for individuals, organisations and international expeditions ranging from extra large, extra strong tent bags, to titchy tiny insulated stuff sacs for precious cargo and all sorts of unique adventure / safety and logistics items.
