ASKHAM MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL - Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th March 2025
OVERVIEW
Once again we are linking up with the excellent online London Mountain Film Festival to stream World class films, featuring a wide range of mountain and outdoor activities, adventures and issues. This year we've extended and spread the load over two days to give us a bit more time and space to enjoy more stuff.
We will be supplement the London Mountain Film Festival films with presentations and sessions featuring our own local heroes or grassroots films, many of which are associates or friends of NAV4. They will be 'under the radar' little know adventurers all with stories needing to be heard, or local histories or topical issues.
Further programme details will be confirmed and released in due course...
FOOD & DRINK
Well the kettle will be on and the coffee machine ready, but will the famous NAV4 soup return? An increased range of food will be available this year, working with a couple of friendly food providers to take to pressure of our regular team. There will be some 'beers' as well.
VENUE
The venue is Askham and District Community Centre, near Penrith. This is conveniently placed just off the M6 and on the edge of The Lakes. Free day parking on site. Secure bike parking and a free brew and cake, and a beer, if you pedal here.
If you've not been before, then welcome to our regular course venue! It's a great starting point for a run, walk, road or MTB ride from the door, either up onto the moor, or down by the river. So you can take a break from the indoor fun and get some fresh air between film or speaker sessions. You could even try the compass course, or O-event.
ACCOMODATION
Campervans welcome Friday and Saturday, for an additional fee. The Punchbowl Inn at the bottom of the village is recommended for rooms, bar food and beer. Plentiful other options, also locally.
Tickets limited to 150.
